Software DNA

The blueprint your software never came with.

FlashTeams maps your code, databases, and dependencies into one living software DNA, giving engineers and AI agents the context to understand, plan, and change complex systems.

Your software holds years of knowledge. Most of it is hidden.

01/ The problem

Your engineers see code. Not the whole system.

Critical business logic, dependencies, and architectural decisions are scattered across repositories, documentation, and senior engineers’ heads. Every new project starts with rediscovery.

Connected Software DNA

Bileeta’s Entution ERP, mapped with FlashTeams.

Understand the system. Not just the files.

02/ Map

Your entire software architecture, mapped.

FlashTeams analyzes repositories and database structures to identify components, technologies, business logic, and the relationships that make your software work.

  • Functions
  • Controllers
  • API endpoints
  • Components
  • Tables
  • Stored procedures
  • Triggers
  • Dependencies

Database analysis uses structure, not business data rows.

Every connection. Every dependency.

03/ Connect

See how your software actually works.

Follow how functions call one another, which services depend on shared components, and how applications interact with databases. Understand the architecture across your entire product.

  • calls
  • reads_from
  • writes_to
  • depends_on
  • renders
  • triggered_by

Know the impact. Before writing code.

04/ Impact

One change. Every affected component.

Select a table, procedure, function, or endpoint to explore its downstream dependencies. Understand the potential impact, uncover affected features, and plan changes with greater confidence.

What changing dbo.Invoices could affect:

  • 1usp_PostInvoiceStored procedure
  • 2InvoiceService.Post()Function
  • 3POST /api/invoicesAPI endpoint
  • 4CheckoutPageComponent

Thousands of components. One connected picture.

05/ Scale

Your software doesn’t stop at one repository.

Connect repositories and databases across products, services, and legacy environments. Understand how systems fit together without investigating each codebase separately.

06/ The payoff

Understanding that turns into execution.

FlashBrain uses Software DNA to answer questions, analyze changes, and scope projects. Flash Swarm uses that context to execute engineering work. Your developers and connected coding agents work from the same understanding.

Software DNA vs search and embeddings

TopicSoftware DNASearch and embeddings
How it finds contextExact names and resolved links, then meaningText matches and similarity guesses
A change’s reachCallers, callees and everything downstreamFound in review, or in production
Many repositoriesOne product, every repository and databaseOne repository at a time
DatabasesTables, procedures and triggers, structure onlyOut of sight
FreshnessUpdated on every push, changed files onlyRe-indexed by hand, if at all
  • Grounded, not guessed

FlashBrain answers from the map with exact names. When it cannot verify something, it says so.

  • Current on every push

Each push to the tracked branch updates just the files it changed. A full rebuild keeps the old map live until it is done.

  • Structure, not secrets

Each organization has its own schema. The map stores structure, not file contents, and source reading stays off until you allow it.

Frequently asked questions

Questions, answered.

What is software DNA?

A map of your software that FlashTeams builds from your repositories and databases: the files, functions, endpoints, tables and procedures, and how they call, read, write and depend on each other. FlashBrain, Flash Swarm and your coding agents all work from it.

Where can it read from?

GitHub, Azure DevOps (Git and TFVC), Bitbucket and IBM i, plus live SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases, including Supabase, Cloud SQL and Neon. One product can combine many repositories with the databases they use.

Which languages does it understand?

FlashTeams detects each codebase’s stack on its own, with support for stacks such as TypeScript and JavaScript, Python, C# and .NET, Flutter, T-SQL and PostgreSQL. Tell us what you run and we will confirm coverage.

How does it stay up to date?

Every push to the branch a product tracks updates the map from just the changed files, on GitHub, Bitbucket and Azure DevOps. You can rebuild the whole map at any time, and the current one stays available while it runs. Databases and IBM i refresh when you run them again.

What happens to my code and data?

Each organization’s map lives in its own database schema. It stores structure, not file contents. Databases are read for structure only, never rows. Reading source files is off by default and asks for approval in each session, and credentials are encrypted.

Which tools can use it?

FlashBrain, Flash Swarm and Product Center work from it directly, and FlashMate reaches it through FlashBrain. Agents in Flash Console get it through the flashteams command, and any MCP client, such as Claude Code, Codex or Gemini CLI, can query it through Flash MCP.

How is this different from embeddings or RAG?

Search by similarity finds text that looks related. Software DNA records how things actually connect, so questions like what calls this procedure, or what breaks if this table changes, get exact answers. It still searches by meaning to find the right place to start.

Your software already has a DNA. It’s time to understand it.

Give every engineer and AI agent the context to make better decisions, plan confidently, and build faster.
